Inspiring Others to Be Resilient

Founded in 2015 by Dr. Miller and his wife Joan, The Connect Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of our community—connecting people with compassion, dignity, and purpose.

We operate two core programs:

The Pass-Through Store is our brick-and-mortar FREE store located in Monroe, NC. It provides clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and seasonal essentials like blankets and coats to families, individuals, and the homeless—at no cost. We currently serve over 1,100 families and support more than 4,900 individuals, including 326 homeless families monthly.

Connect Scholars is an education-focused initiative supporting first-generation high school and college students. We offer academic mentorship, tutoring, college prep, FAFSA assistance, life-skills workshops, and cultural exposure—empowering youth to break generational barriers and reach their full potential.
